It's a......

GIRL!!!!!!

Lane and I went this morning to Stork Vision (an elective sonogram place) to find out the gender of Baby C. The tech immediately told us it was a girl. I'm still in shock. For some reason, I was thinking boy.... even had the bedding picked out ;) So much for my mother's intuition.

We're both thrilled! She was a little sleepy this morning and didn't want to show off for Mommy and Daddy - but at least she didn't have her legs crossed.

Kicks?

Well, I think I'm feeling Baby C move! I've been feeling flutters and "popcorn" for several weeks now and questioned if it was the baby or something else. It definitely isn't constant, but it is increasing as I grow.

Quad screen results

Dr F's office called on Friday and everything looks great! All levels on the quad screen came back within a normal range. Lane was very impressed with me not stressing over the results the days prior and honestly, so am I.

We'll be doing an elective sonogram on Saturday to find out the gender of Baby C!!! Then 3 weeks later, we'll have the sono at the doctor's office so they can measure the baby's growth. It wasn't easy convincing Lane to do the elective sono, but somehow....... I can't wait to know, so shopping can truly begin and we can start thinking seriously about names.

16 weeks 5 days

4th doctors appointment today! Dr F found the heartbeat with no problems - yay. She said everything looks great. I'd been having some pain in my abdomen that still hasn't gone away. She said to take it easy, but if it gets worse or doesn't go away to call her..... I think it's just my body getting ready for a growth spurt from Baby Chamblee.

After some discussion, Lane and I decided to go ahead with the quad screen. We were both undecided about this test based on all the false positives we've read about. Some good friends had a scary few weeks because of this test and now they have a healthy, happy 15 month old baby girl! Now it's just a waiting game to get the results back. Say a prayer for us that everything comes out within normal range.

The big ultrasound is scheduled for May 8!!! We FINALLY get to find out if its pink or blue. I'm so excited and hope these next 4 weeks fly by.

Vegas Baby!

We just got back from Vegas with our friends, the Renfows! The mornings were spent at the pool and the nights were spent: watching the NCAA Finals at ESPNZone, going to see the Cirque show Mystere, eating fab food and Wheel Of Fortune slots. We had a good time, but not being able to drink with everyone was TERRIBLE! Lane had a fabulous time gambling (even though he came home with less money than he left with) and I'm so thankful he had Jeff and Elaine to keep him company once I went to bed.

Here we are at the Hoover Dam (16 weeks)

Well, so much for waiting to tell work! I took Mom's advice and wore a comfy dress to work.... not great camouflage for a bit of a baby bump.

We had a Planning and Allocation birthday celebration for everyone in our division and I ended up being the one to cut and serve the cake... I could feel people looking at the belly!! I got back to my desk, I had IMs popping up everywhere. I decided to nip the gossip mill in the bud and tell my team.... Apparently, everyone suspected and were just waiting for me to confirm the good news! My favorite response... "No" (in the most sarcastic tone you can muster).

We had our second OB appointment today.... after Baby C gave us a little scare (Doctor F couldn't find the heartbeat with the doppler... so, we got an unscheduled sonogram), he or she is doing great! Measuring exactly 11 weeks 5 days (we have a little perfectionist on our hands), heartbeat was 170 bpm. We saw and heard the heartbeat - what an amazing sound! - and saw the little nose and little fingers! We'll be telling our friends that don't know as we see/talk to them, but I won't be telling work for another few weeks.

What a difference a month makes! Baby C looks like an actual baby!!!!

We went to the doctor today for our first appointment. It took almost 2 hours, but was SO worth it when we had the ultrasound. Baby C is measuring right on track at 7 weeks 4 days and a heartbeat of 156 bpm!!! The most amazing sight and sound ever!
