We started the day off with the parade downtown. Growing up in Belton, you get spoiled to a HUGE 4th parade. People stake out their places the night before and you have to get there super early that morning. I was expecting the same since the city spent a gazillion dollars promoting their weekend. Yall. It was the.most.disappointing. parade I've ever been to. There were a few fire trucks, a few council people waving from their cars, and some people walking. That's it. We walked around downtown for a little while after the "parade" and then went home to let the girls nap.
(I chopped my hair off the day before)After everyone was refreshed, we went over to the Renfrow's for a little grilling and homemade icecream. We were commenting on how much things change once kiddos are in the picture and how we can't wait for them to be old enough that it turns into a slumber party for them so we can stay up and have some adult beverages.
Things weren't wild in any respect, but I LOVE it this way. Good food, great friends, and just a relaxing day! I can't wait to see what next year brings when we have a 3 1/2 year old (Reese), a 21 month old (P), and an 11 month old (Baby Boy)!

Awww, I can't wait to see what it's like next year either!! We had the best time with y'all on the 4th!
And last night was fun, too - love all the plans we cooked up for the next year! And let's not forget THIS football season! I'll be back in the game and we'll be ready for some watch parties!
