Sick and Tired

of being sick and tired.

UPDATE: P's left ear is now infected. The pediatrician used the words "severe bulging infection". She's on yet another antibiotic and has a referral to a pediatric ENT. The pedi also said that it was a very real possibility for one or both of P's eardrums to burst if we flew on Thursday, so we're postponing our trip to Alabama... which means I'm having to postpone a post for y'all.

I'm SO ready for my sweet baby girl to stop feeling and looking so miserable

and go back to her happy, darling self.

P has another ear infection, but this one is seeming to be resistant to the antibiotic the doctor put her on. She still has a green runny nose, which you'd think would at least be clear after being on antibiotics for 4 days. She's super congested and has a hacking cough. If things aren't better by this afternoon, we're headed to our pediatrician. We're suppose to leave for Birmingham on Thursday afternoon, but if she's not better, P and I will stay home.

An Itch I Can't Scratch

Ugh! I have a major urge to shop... for clothes, for shoes, for bedding, for house stuff, really for anything except groceries (since we actually need those). The problem is, I need to shop for some big ticket items that should take priority of my budget, but I need to save, save, save for them (there's actually money burning a whole in my pocket since I've started saving for the camera).... such as:
1. new lap top
2. new super-duper SLR camera
3. new house

clearly no instant gratification in the above list.

I must add... LC is self employed (and I stay home with P) and while I could go buy the above (with the exception of the house.. 2 mortgage payments is no bueno), I'm trying to recession proof our bank account just in case things head south in the future.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Payton's valentines for her classmates.

I thought it would be sweet for LC to give P valentine's so she'll understand how a lady is suppose to be treated. We both got yellow tulips, even though LC and I don't "do" V-Day.

LC got her a sweet card that you can record your own message and then it plays a song. It plays "Payton, Daddy loves you" and How Sweet It Is To Be Loved By You when you open it up.

Oh wow! The crawling baby she loved every time we passed it at the store.


On Saturday night, we headed over to the Semi-Homemade's for steaks, potatoes, and salad. You can read more about it here. We had a ball and the night ended way too soon!

Guess Who....

... was up at 5 AM? That would be Miss Priss!
... is completely exhausted and brought Miss P into bed with us in the hopes she'd go back to sleep? That would be me!
... thought it'd be super cute to pretend to sleep and then pop up and say "hi, hi, hi", "hi Daddy", or do a little growl at Scout? Yep, Miss P again... and while it was super cute, it did not help us go to sleep.
... is still going strong at 6:47 AM? Diddy Doo that's who! I really thought she'd be back in bed at about 6, but clearly that isn't going to happen. I'm sure she'll want to take an early nap right as the cleaning lady gets here or we have to leave to drop off her valentines and strawberries at school... for a party she doesn't even get to attend.

Spring's A-Coming to Texas!

Last night we had some SEVERE weather in the metroplex! LC and I went back and forth on whether or not to get P up. Mommas of small children know - you NEVER wake a sleeping baby unless something is seriously wrong! After seeing some rotation on the radar, we thought it would be best to at least be downstairs so we could get under the stairs if need be. P was so sweet when I got her up. I was praying she'd stay asleep and just let me hold her... not so much, but, she was in a great mood.

Of course as soon as we made it downstairs, the severe threat was over, so we woke P up for no reason. Better to be safe than sorry I guess!

Great Wolf Lodge

I finally took the time to get the Great Wolf Lodge pictures off E's Shutterfly (since I was a bad mom and forgot to pack our camera)... almost a month later!

We headed to Grapevine on a Friday afternoon to celebrate Miss Reese's 3rd birthday with a mini-vacation at Great Wolf Lodge.

Once we got settled in our suite with the R family, we ate dinner and then got the kiddos ready for the water! Aren't they so stinking cute??!!

They were troopers and played until 9 pm!

Then we got the kiddos jammies on and headed to story time at the clock tower.
After story time, we had cupcakes at 10 pm! E made dirt cupcakes with crushed oreos and worms to go along with the camping theme!

I couldn't resist snuggling with this sweet boy while his big sister opened her gifts! G-man was 5 months old in these pics! I just want to eat him up!!!

We woke up on Saturday, went to the breakfast buffet and then headed to the water park. P LOVED it even though we didn't leave until almost 3 (3 hours later than her nap time). She fell asleep as soon as we loaded her in the car!

Yall!!

I'm thrilled. THRILLED! that my dear, sweet, dare I say best friend is now blogging!!! And, I even have a name on her blog.... Mrs. Everything... as in Friends-We-Do-Everything-With! We're The Everythings. I love it!

We are seriously so blessed to have them in our lives. I'm sure y'all understand how difficult it is to find friends where everyone likes all the others in the group. LC and Mr Fix It are joined at the hip (we joke that Mr Fix It is LC's girlfriend), LC and E like each other and Mr Fix It and I like each other... I don't mean like as in tolerate... I mean genuinely like/care for each other. It's a win-win all the way around.

EI & RSV

So glad I took P into the doctor yesterday... Miss Priss has an ear infection and RSV (no wonder she was up every 30-45 minutes on Thursday night). She's on a stronger antibiotic, a steroid, and breathing treatments (every 4 hours for 3 days, then every 6 hours for 2 days, then every 8 hours for 2 days). She is not a fan at all! In fact, we're having to split each treatment into 2 sessions just so she doesn't freak out. Last night was night #2 in our bed and she's been a snuggle bug, but LC and I are still exhausted! She's looking better, but you can tell she still feels awful. She's contagious for a week! We're basically quarantined to the house until next Friday! Can you say stir crazy momma and baby?

Time Out!

On Tuesday, Miss Priss was placed in time out 2 different times in the span of about 5 minutes. The first offense was for taking all of Scout's food out of his bowl and the second was for playing in his water bowl. She understands when she's in trouble and will actually sit where I place her for the minute (I'm using the 1 minute for every year of a kid's age rule) of time out. Once her time is up, I tell her again why she was in time out, give her a kiss, and tell her I love her.... she kisses me back and then runs off to play!
